The district administration has identified 9 places in Jalandhar district for peaceful protests based on reports from the Commissioner of Police, SSP Jalandhar Rural, and SDMs.
Additional district magistrate Major Dr. Amit Mahajan said that the places namely PUDA ground opposite tehsil complex Jalandhar, Desh Bhagat Yadgar hall, Burlton Park, Dussehra ground Jalandhar cantt, improvement trust Kartarpur , Dana Mandi Bhogpur, on western side Kapurthala road Nakodar , Dana Mandi village Saifawala ( Phillaur ) and complex of Nagar panchayat Shahkot.
He also made it clear that the protesters would have to seek prior approval from the police or SDM as the case may be. Besides that, no weapons including knives, lathis, and the like would be allowed during the protest.
The organizers would have to give the undertaking to ensure a peaceful march. The organizers would be responsible for any kind of loss whether human life or property for their unlawful act during the protest. The order will remain in force for the next two months.
Meanwhile, Additional District Magistrate Major Dr. Amit Mahajan has declared the jurisdiction of Jalandhar (rural) as a “No Drone Zone “ by exercising the power conferred under section 144 of CRP 1973.
He said that flying drones and unmanned aerial vehicles would be strictly prohibited with immediate effect in Jalandhar rural areas. Besides that, he also made it clear that police and armed forces involved in maintaining law and order and utilizing the UAV/ drones for the same purpose would have to inform his office before deploying UAV/ Drones.
This order will remain in force for two months.
