Two cheaters booked for duping Shahkot villager of Rs4.5   Lakhs

 

SHAHKOT

The Shahkot police have two cheaters on the charge of duping Shahkot villagers of Rs 4.5

 

Shahkot Police Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Bhushan Sekharri said that the accused have been identified as Karan Sharma, Dharminder Kumar a resident of Bihar State, and their unidentified accomplices.

Sohann Singh a resident of Daulat Pur Dhada village complained to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jalandhar (rural) that the accused telephoned him introducing themselves as his relatives and duped him of Rs 4, 27 Lakhs through an online method.

SPP ordered a cyber-crime cell for inquiry which found all the details of the accused and sent its report ordering the registration of a case after an opinion from the district attorney.

 

SHO said a case under sections 403(dishonest misappropriation of property), 420(cheating) 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, and section 66-D of the Information Technology Act has been registered against the accused and their other unidentified accomplices.
