The Nakodar City police have booked three unidentified looters on the charge of looting Rs 4.46,585 from a finance company employee.
Sahib Singh son of Desa Singh a resident of Talli Gulam village under Sadar Feroze Pur police station complained to the police that he is working in a finance company giving group loans in villages and collecting instalments.
Sahib Singh said that his company’s branch executive on Friday gave him Rs 4,46,585 and asked him to deposit it with a vendor of Fino Payment Bank Harpreet Singh living in Mohalla Sunder Nagar.
He said that he was going to Sundar Nagar with money on his bike when three unidentified accused crossed him in the back side of Dera Lal Badshah and a pillion-riding accused put chili powder in his eyes and he fell, and the other accused snatched his kit containing money at the point of sharp-edged weapons and flew away saying he can recognize the accused if bring in his front.
Investigating officer Sarabjit Singh said a case under section 379-B (snatching )and 34(committing a crime with common intention ) of the IPC has been registered against the unidentified accused.
This act of looting has created a sense of indignation and insecurity among residents who have questioned police functioning during election time.
