JALANDHAR
As the nomination withdrawal process has been completed today, 20 candidates remain in the fray for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha poll, scheduled to be held on June 1st.
District election officer cum Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that poll symbols have been allotted to independent candidates in the presence of ECI general observer J. Meghanatha Reddy.
The candidates who would contest for the Lok Sabha Jalandhar segment include Sushil Kumar from BJP, Charanjit Singh Channi from INC, Parshotam Lal CPI (M) , Pawan Kumar Tinnu from AAP, Balwinder Kumar from BSP, Mohinder Singh Kaypee from SAD,
Sarabjit Singh from SAD (A) , Sonia from Republican Party of India (athawale) , Gulshan Kumar from Democratic Bharti samaj party, Tara Chand Sharmila from Loktantrik Lok Rayjyaam party, Bal Mukund from Global Republican Party, Rajwant Kaur from Apna samaj party, Raj Kumar from people’s party of India ( Democratic ) whereas Ashok Kumar, Amrish Bhagat, Iqbal Chand, Gurdeep Singh, Neetu, Parmjit Kaur taiji and Ramesh Lal as independent candidates.
It may be mentioned here that more than 16 lakh voters would be able to cast their votes at 1951 polling booths in Jalandhar.
