District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal today said that as a part of series of efforts being made by the Election Commission of India to achieve the target of over 70 % voting during the Lok Sabha Elections, Jalandhar District Administration under the SVEEP programs has been sensitizing voters to exercise their right to vote by putting up posters/hoardings at different places in Jalandhar.
Dr. Aggarwal informed that in furtherance of the activities being conducted under the SVEEP program, the district administration has put up colourful posters/hoardings for voter awareness at various places such as bus stands, railway stations, government buildings, and educational institutions.
There are various slogans written on them.
The District Election Officer said that instructions have already been given to the election officials to ensure that every eligible voter reached out to vote on June 1.
He said that during voter awareness activities, the voters are being made to realize that we must use the right to vote responsibly to make the country front-runner in terms of social and economic prosperity.
Himanshu Aggarwal said that apart from this, under the district administration's SVEEP program, various graffiti in the form of famous film characters. were created as a unique initiative at the big squares and various dialogues encouraging voters to exercise the right to vote.
The District Election Officer appealed to the residents of the district to come forward to make their valuable contribution to strengthening the democratic process of the country keeping in mind the bright future of their new generation. He also appealed to the residents of the district that no eligible voter should be deprived of voting on the polling day on June 1.
