Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today said that the district administration had received as many as 421 complaints on the C-vigil app and all these were redressed within the stipulated time frame.
Divulging more, the DEO said that about 26 complaints were received in the Adampur assembly segment, 87 in Jalandhar Cantt, 61 in Jalandhar Central, 127 in North, 64 in Jalandhar West, 30 in Kartarpur, 10 in Nakodar, 10 in Phillaur and 6 in Shahkot assembly constituencies.
All these complaints have been resolved by AROs within the given period of 100 minutes.
District Election Officer appealed to the people to report any sort of violation related to the model code of conduct on the C-vigil app for speedy redressal.
He mentioned that people can download this app from the Play Store and file complaints concerning MCC violations with proof including photo and video, which is addressed within 100 minutes as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
He said that besides the C-vigil app, the District Administration had also set up a complaint cell in the district administrative complex for the facilitation of people.
Giving more information about the grievance redressal mechanism during elections, Dr. Aggarwal said that as many as 181 complaints were received offline which were also resolved within the stipulated time frame. Likewise, 46 complaints were received through the NGRS portal, and nine complaints were received at helpline number 1950 which were also addressed by the officials concerned promptly. He further stated that over 1400 persons have sought various queries concerning elections at helpline number 1950.
