Woman, son travel agents arrested for duping Shahkot villager of Rs 23.70 Lakhs.

 

SHAHKOT

The Shahkot police have arrested a woman and her son travel agents  for duping a Shahkot villager of Rs. 23..70 lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Amandeep Singh said that the accused have been identified as Alka Khurana wife of Surinder Kumar Arora a resident of Employees Colony  Shahkot, and her son  Ishan Khurana.

 

Paramjit Singh a resident of Narang Pur Hansi village had complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police that he paid Rs 23.70 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration to Canada, but he was given a fake visa and thus was cheated.

 

DSP said that a case under section 406 (breach of trust). 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of The Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act 2012 were registered against the accused.
