The Shahkot police have booked a villager on the charge of outraging a woman’s modesty.
Investigating Officer (IO) Manjit Ranni said that the accused has been identified as Chhinder Son of Harbilas a resident of Nawan Qila village.
The victim complained to the police the accused that the accused caught her from her breasts, turned her arm slapped her, and threatened her with dire consequences on May 14 evening.

IO said that a case under section 354 (criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty),323(voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrest has been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
