Four West Bengal, MP cheaters booked for duping two Shahkot women of Rs 7,87 Lakhs

 

SHAHKOT

The Shahkot police have booked four cheaters on the charge of duping two Shahkot women of Rs 7,87 Lakhs.

 

Shahkot Police Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Yadwinder Singh said that the accused has been identified as Rabindra Nath Jana a resident of Midna Pur district West Bengal, Puja Damtariya, Kavita Kundel Kar resident of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and their one unidentified accomplice.

Joginder Kaur wife of Tarsem Singh a resident of  Malsian village and Nirmal Kaur wife of Bawa Singh a resident of Shahkot Town complained to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jalandhar (rural)  that the accused telephoned them introducing their relatives living abroad and lured them on various pretext and duped them of Rs 7.87 Lakhs.

SPP ordered a cyber-crime cell for inquiry which found all the details of the accused and sent its report ordering the registration of a case after an opinion from the district attorney.

 

SHO said a case under sections 403(dishonest misappropriation of property), 420(cheating) 120-B(criminal conspiracy ) of the Indian Penal Code, and section 66-D of the Information Technology Act has been registered against the accused .
