The Mehat Pur police have booked five people on the charge of assaulting a villager.
Investigating officer (IO) Davinder Singh that the accused have been identified as Sandip, Aman, Vikram, and Gurpreet all residents of villages in Ludhiana, and their one unidentified accomplice.
Gurcharan Singh a resident of Gounsu Wal village station complained to the police that the accused attacked him on May 11 seriously injured him and threatened him with dire consequences brandishing firearms.
IO said a case under sections 323,4(voluntarily causing hurt) 506(criminal; intimidation) and148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act have been registered against the accused.
The Nakodar City police have booked 14 accused of assaulting a PowerCom employee Sandip Kumar of Nur Pur Chatha village said IO Dilbag Singh.
