NAKODAR
The total purchase of wheat grain by the state government agencies from farmers on Monday reached 3, lakh 7,6340 quintals which is less than the fixed target of 3 lakh 9,22037 in grain markets under the jurisdiction of the Mehat Pur market committee.
Committee secretary Tejinder Kumar said that it is 4 percent less than the target of last year's purchase adding that with the slow wheat arrivals, the government agencies are aiming at purchasing a few more quintals of wheat quintals.
He said that 2,69194 quintals of purchased wheat have been lifted from the grain markets 1,07146 quintals remain to be lifted and farmers have been paid up to May 8.
