NAKODAR
The total purchase of wheat grain by the state government agencies from farmers on Sunday Friday reached 4, lakh 58940 quintals which is less than the fixed target of 4 lakh 66421 quintals in grain markets under the jurisdiction of the Nakodar committee.
Committee secretary Rupinder Singh said with the slow wheat arrivals, the government agencies are aiming at purchasing more quintals of wheat quintals.
He said that 356336 quintals of purchased wheat have been lifted from the grain markets and 102604 quintals remain to be lifted and formers have been paid up to May 8.
