The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested three looters on the charge of snatching cash, a gold chain, and a mobile from a Nakodar resident.
Investigating officer (IO) Janak Raj said that the accused have been identified as Himanshu son of Surinder Kumar, Ajay Kumar Saabi son of Sukhwinder Singh, and Gagan Deep Singh alias Gori son of Sucha Singh all residents of Dane Wal village under Shahkot police station.
Gourav Sharma resident of Adda Mehat Pur Nakodar had complained to the police that he was returning home on April 19 when a motorcycle-borne accused waylaid him near Kang Sahibu village and snatched from him Rs 250, two smartphones, a gold chain, and other documents at the point of sharp-edged weapons and fled away.
Investigating officer Raj said that a case under section 379-B(snatching ) of the IPC was registered against the accused and recovered from them some snatched items and impounded a motorcycle used in committing a crime.
