Shahkot travel agent booked for duping villager of Rs 5 lakh.

 

NAKODAR

 The Nakodar City police have booked a travel agent for allegedly duping a villager of Rs.5 lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and investigating officer, in this case, Kulwinder Singh Virk said that the accused has been identified as Rimple Kumar alia Rampal a resident of Kanganna village under Shahkot police station.

Harjit Singh a resident of Kohala village under Lambarra police station complained to the Jalandhar(rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) that he paid Rs 5 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration to France, but he was not sent abroad nor returned the money.

 

DSP said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Agents Professional   Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
