District Election Officer invites disabled, senior citizens to make maximum use of 'Saksham App'

District Election Officer Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today said as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the Jalandhar Administration was making concerted efforts to ensure maximum participation of disabled and senior citizens in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
The District Election Officer invited the disabled s and senior citizens to make maximum use of the 'Saksham App' during the Lok Sabha elections and said that by using this app, they can scan the code provided by the district administration on the day of polling to get the facility of a wheelchair, transportation, and volunteer facility for their convenience on the polling day. He said that this app can be downloaded from Google Play Store and App Store.
He also said that the disabled and senior citizens are an integral part of our society, and the district administration was duty-bound to provide them with all the necessary facilities during polls. He further instructed all the Assistant Returning Officers to provide as much information as possible about the facilities available for disabled and senior citizens via 'Saksham App' so that a maximum number of people can take benefit from these facilities. By taking advantage of the facilities, they can make a valuable contribution to the further strengthening of democracy by exercising their right to vote, he added.

Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal also directed all the officials of the district to make proper arrangements for drinking water, cleanliness, wheelchairs, ramps, etc. at the polling stations so that the voters do not face any kind of problem.
