Women among two travel agents booked for duping woman of Rs 4.50 lakhs

 

NURMAHAL

 The Nurmahal police have booked two travel agents including women for allegedly duping a woman of Rs.4.50 lakhs on the pretext of sending her abroad.

Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kulwinder Singh Virk who is investigating officer in this case, said that the accused have been identified as Parminder Kaur wife of Satrnam Singh a resident of Kang Jagir village under Phillaur police station, and Vijay Kumar Momi son of Sada Ram a resident of Bhar Singh Pura village under Phillaur police station.

Amandeep Kaur wife of Jhalmann Singh a resident of Bhardwajian village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (ssp) that she paid 4.50 to the accused for facilitating her migration abroad but she was not sent abroad nor returned the money and prepared false documents and thus cheated her.

 

DSP said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating)465,468,471(fraud) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act has been registered against the accused.
