The Shahkot police have arrested a woman on the charge of helping his son to rape a girl.
Investigating officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused had been identified as Binder wife of Ranjit Singh a resident of Said Pur Jhirri village.
Investigating Officer I(IO) said the victim had complained to police that the accused conspired with her son Love Jeet to kidnap her on the pretext of marriage. The victim said that Lovejeet repeatedly raped her, and she became pregnant.
IO said that a case under
sections 376(rape),120-B (criminal conspiracy, and 506 of the IPC have been registered against the accused and his son has been arrested earlier.
