The Nurmahal police have charged two miscreants with cheating a journalist.
Station House Officer (SHO) Varinder Pal Singh e said that the accused have been identified as Anil Kumar son of Dala Ram a resident of Bhodi Pur village and Deepak Kumar son of Vinod Kumar a resident of Khuhi Kherra village in Fazilka district
Gurdeep Singh a resident of Tagarr village and chief editor of a YouTube news channel complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that the accused were operating a group on a social media site named Mobil Hubli Jalandhar propagating a Lucki Draw lured him to invest Rs 299 per member and had fixed a date of for the opening of the draw but never opened it and thus cheated may residents of crores of Rupees and legal action should be taken against the accused
SHO said that a case against the accused and a case under section 420(cheating) of the Indian Penal Code and section 66(D) of the Information Technology Act has been registered against the accused. The police have earlier booked three Feroze miscreants on these charges.
