Karmjeet Anmol tours grain market Kotkapura to meet Ahartias, met with anti government slogans by a commission agent
He accused AAP leadership of destroying his business while the others defend themselves saying nothing political in it.
Faridkot
Karmjeet Anmol, the AAP nominee from Faridkot on Saturday went shop to shop with commission agents of grain market Kotkpura.
But one commission agent shouted slogans against the local leadership of the AAP accusing them that the two licenses of his firm were cancelled for the alleged violation of moisture laden wheat which had only 14 per cent moisture.
He also alleged that his form was also targeted earlier too.
He alleged that his firm was being targeted because of political vendetta by local AAP leadership.
Anmol was on a visit to the grain market on the invite of some commission agents.
"I had invited Anmol in a personal capacity though I am the president of the Ahartia association Kotkapura. But It had nothing to do with my official position. Any candidate is welcome by us as they can tour the grain market freely canvassing for his support. As far as I am concerned, I am here to protect the interests of the commission agents, accountants, labour and farmers also. The candidate was asked to visit each and every shop of the grain market irrespective of any political affiliation. We have jurisdiction to interfere in the issues only of the Kotkapura grain market. The rural purchase centers are not within our jurisdiction because they also fall under other market committees as well," said Ashok Kumar Goel, a commission agent from Kotkapura who defended himself claiming that he has nothing to do with politics in the grain market Kotkapura.
Goel was replying to a question to the said commission agent who said that he was under political pressure and did not call for a meeting of the commission agents on that issue.
The said commission agent also accused the chairman market committee Kotkapura of misusing his powers to cancel the licenses of his two shops.
"We had found the firm violating the laws of the market committee and issued two notices to it seeking its reply. But no notice was received by the firm. So I cancelled the licenses of the firm for a week. If a firm has blood relations to the other firm, both the licenses can be cancelled and there is no violation of the laws," said Gurmeet Singh, chairman market committee Kotkapura speaking to the media.
The said firm was also found allegedly in violation of stocking some paddy illegally in a rice mill a few months back.
Karmjeet Anmol said that he was not aware of the issue when he was met with the protests at the shop of ahartia.
It is pertinent to mention that the said firm and local AAP leadership have not been enjoying a good relationship for some time in the past.
