The Shahkot police have booked two looters on the charge of snatching a woman’s gold chain.
The Investigating Officer (IO) in charge of Talwandi Sanghera police post-Buta Ram said that the accused have been identified as Jatinder Kumar alia Jiti son of Sarabjit alias Saabi and Harsha Kumar alias Harsh son of Sushil Kumar residents of Mule Wal Arayin village.
Balwinder Kaur wife of Manjit Singh a resident of Parjian Khurd village complained to the police that two d motorcycle-borne accused waylaid him on Parjian Khurd Gate and her village road on the April 25 evening and snatched her gold chain measuring 2.5 grams weapons and fled away.
The investigating officer said that a case under section 379-B(snatching) and 34(committing a crime with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
This incident of looting has created a sense of fear and insecurity among residents and put a question mark on police patrolling.
