The Shahkot police have booked a car driver on charges of causing death by negligence and rash driving on the public road.
The Investigating officer (IO)Puran Singh said that the accused has been identified as Parminder Singh alias Paraminder Singh a resident of Mundi Kalu village under Lohian Khas police station.
Rannjit Singh a resident of Mannak Pur village, complained to the police that the accused was driving his car (PB-30-R-0539 ) very fast and negligently on April 26 hit his father Baldev Singh standing on the roadside near Nakodar Truck Union and killed him
IO said the car driver managed to flee from the spot with his vehicle and a case under Sections 304-A (causing death by negligence) 279(rash driving on a public road) 337 -338(causing hurt to any person by doing any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life or the personal safety of others, ) and 427(mischief). The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
