Women among three travel agents booked for duping Shahkot villager of Rs 23.70 Lakhs.

 

SHAHKOT

The Shahkot police have booked three travel agents including women for allegedly duping a Shahkot villager of Rs.23..70  lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)  Amandeep Singh said that the accused have been identified as Surinder Kumar Arora son of Krishan Lal a resident of Adarsha Nagar, Shahkot, his wife Alka Khurana, and son Ishan Khurana.

 

Paramjit Singh a resident of Narang Pur Hansi village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police that he paid Rs 23.70 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration to Canada, but he was given a fake visa and thus was cheated.

DSP said that a case under section 406 (breach of trust). 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of The Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act 2012 have been registered against the accused after an inquiry.

The Bilga police also booked three travel agents Balwinder Singh son of Dharam Singh a resident of Lallto Kalan village in Ludhiana district his wife Asha Ranni and Balvir Singh son of Mehar Singh of Poadharra village for allegedly duping Parabhdeep Singh a resident of Gumtali village of Rs 3,65 50 lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad, said Investigating Officer Nirvair Singh
