The Mehat Pur police have arrested an absconding drug peddler on the charge of selling poppy husk. Investigating officer (IO)Manjinder it Singh said that 8.100 kilograms of poppy husk was recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Gurbachan Singh alias Chana son of Surat Singh a resident of Umre Wal village who managed to flee from the spot.
IO said a case under section 15(b) /61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and impounded his motorcycle.
