Two women among three travel agents booked for duping Nakodar woman of Rs 9.85 Lakhs.

 

NAKODAR

The Nakodar Sar police have booked three travel agents including two women for allegedly duping a Nakodar woman of Rs.9.85 lakhs on the pretext of sending her husband abroad.

The Investigating officer (IO) and Shankar police post in charge Harjitr Singh said that the accused have been identified as Kuldeep Singh son of Kashmir Singh a resident of Tahli village, his wife Jasvir Kaur, and Kiran Bansal daughter of Ramesh Lal a resident of Subash Nagar, Banga in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district.

 

The investigating officer said that Seema wife of Jaswinder Kumar a resident of ofTahli village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police that she paid Rs 9.85 lakhs to the accused for facilitating her husband's migration to Canada, but the accused did not send him abroad and not returned the money.

 IO said that a case under section 406 (breach of trust). 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy), of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) have been registered against the accused after an inquiry.

The police also booked travel agent Pawan Kumar son of Gurmej Ram of Chitti village under Lambrra police station for allegedly duping Jaspal Singh a resident of Rahim Pur village of 12. 50 lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad, said Nakodar D.S.P. Kulwinder Singh
