Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today conducted a comprehensive review of wheat procurement at Dana Mandis in the Phillaur Subdivision.
Directing officials to expedite the lifting of procured wheat, he emphasized the imminent acceleration in crop arrivals in the coming days. Dr. Aggarwal underscored the importance of ensuring a smooth procurement process for farmers without any hurdles.
During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner engaged with farmers and Aartiyas, actively soliciting their feedback and suggestions.
He promptly issued directives to concerned officials based on their input, reaffirming his commitment to addressing their concerns. He further instructed officials to provide all necessary facilities to farmers to facilitate seamless procurement.
It is noteworthy that the district has procured a significant amount of wheat, totaling 1,57,157 metric tonnes thus far against the target to purchase 5.17 lakh MT during the season.
