The Nurmahal police have booked a resident on the charge of cheating a woman.
Investigating officer (IO) Sanjiv Kumar said that the accused has been identified as Deepak Kumar son of Raj Kumar a resident of MohallaTourrian, Nurmahal.
Preeti wife of Abjit Kumar a resident of Farwala village complained to the police that the accused signed an agreement to sell a shop situated in the tehsil and received Rs1.80 Lakhs as earnest money but did not register a sale deed and sold it to somebody else and thus cheated her.
IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused.
