The Nurmahal police have booked a travel agent on the charges of breach of trust and cheating.
Investigating officer(IO) Varinder Mohan Singh said that the accused has been identified as Narinder Singh son of Sardara Singh a resident of Kasso Chalhal village in Kapurthal district
The investigating officer said that Jaswant Singh a resident of Uppal Khalsa village complained to police that he paid Rs 18.50 Lakhs to the accused for his migration to the US but he was sent to Mexico from where he was deported on an emergency slip and the accused agreed to return some money but did not pay him an installment of Rs 2 Lakhs as promised and thus cheated him.
IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused.
