The special branch of the Jalandhar (rural) police has arrested two drug peddlers on the charge of selling Charas
.Investigating officer (IO)Inspector Sukhdev Singh said that 5 kilograms of Charas and Rs 51,000 drug money were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Sandeep Kumar alias Sonu son of Lekh Raj a resident of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Nakodar, and Gurdial Singh alias Bagga son of Karnail Singh a resident of Indira colony, Nakodar.
IO said that a case under sections 20/20-C/27-A//61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and impounded a scooter on which they were traveling with the contraband.
