As the wheat arrival in Mandi’s expected from April 10 onwards, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, SDMs at Nakodar, Shahkot, and Jalandhar-1 today visited various Mandi’s to review the arrangements for smooth procurement during 2023-24 season.
The district has set the target to procure nearly 5.18 lakh MT wheat during the season, for that adequate arrangements have been made in 80 Mandis in the district.
Nakodar SDM Gursimran Singh , Shahkot SDM Rishab Bansal and Jalandhar -1 SDM Balbir Raj today visited mandis at Nakodar, Shahkot, and Kartarpur along with officials from the Mandi board, procurement agencies, food supply etc.
They also talked with artiyas to ensure the proper arrangements to tackle any adverse weather conditions. Besides that, they also checked the arrangements like drinking water, electricity, etc in Mandi’s so that farmers would not face any difficulties in Mandi’s.
