To achieve the 70 % polling target in Lok Sabha polls 2024 in Jalandhar parliamentary constituency, District election officer-cum-Deputy commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal asked the officials to intensify the voter awareness activities under SVEEP.
Today chairing the meeting regarding voter awareness about ethical voting, Dr Himanshu said that to ensure the maximum participation of youth especially the newly registered 40000 voters falling between the age group of 18-19 years, officials must reach every educational institution besides organizing seminars/ writing competitions/nukkar nataks , quiz competitions etc so that they must know the importance of voting.
He also asked the officials to launch a voter awareness campaign on social media platforms as it will be a boon to reach out to the people in maximum numbers in an easy manner. Besides that different kinds of communication modes are also to be used for voter awareness.
DEO also asked that to facilitate the PWD voter, all necessary arrangements like ramps/wheelchairs be made at polling stations in a stipulated time frame so that people should be facilitated for maximum voting.
