The Nakodar City police have arrested a miscreant and booked his two unidentified accomplices on the charge of snatching a woman’s phone.
Investigating officer (IO) Harinder Pal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Keshav son of Gurdeep Chand a resident of Ismail Pur locality under Mehat Pur police station.
Balwinder Kaur wife of Mangat Ram a resident of Jako Pur village under Lohian Khas police station complained to the police that she was standing at Jalandhari Pulli on March 31 morning with her son-in-law when three motorcycle-borne accused came and one of them snatched her smartphone and fled away toward Shankar Chownk
IO said that a case under sections 379(B) (snatching) and120-B (criminal conspiracy) property) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and two unidentified accomplices
This is pertinent to mention here that this is the second snatching incident within a few days and has exposed the Nakodar police’s claim of deployment of the special police force in the town during the night to check thefts and snatching incidents.
