JALANDHAR
To surpass the target of 70 percent polling in district Jalandhar through maximum participation of voters during Lok Sabha elections, an intensive awareness drive was held during new admissions in schools across the district today.
Under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, parents and other family members were encouraged to exercise their right to vote for the strengthening of democracy without any fear or greed.
Apart from this, students were also motivated to spread the message of voter awareness in their homes, societies so as to ensure maximum participation of people in this biggest festival of democracy.
Meanwhile, they were also sensitized about the voter helpline mobile application, and 1950 toll free helpline.
Notably, the district administration has already launched a large-scale voter awareness campaign in the district to achieve the target of above 70 percent voting in the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency.
