The Shahkot police have booked two villagers on the charges of selling and brewing illicit country-made liquor.
Station House Officer (SHO) Yadwinder Singh said that the accused have been identified as Vijay Kumar a resident of Said Pur Jhirri village and Shingara Singh a resident of Rame village.
SHO said 50 bottles s of hooch, and 1200 litters of Lahann(raw liquor) utensils for brewing and storing lahann were recovered from the accused who managed to flee.
Cases under sections 61/1/14 of the Excise Act have been registered against the accused.
