The Bilga police have arrested a villager and booked another on the charge of cultivating the poppy crop.
The investigating officer (IO) Satpal said that the accused has been identified as Hans Raj alias Chirri son of Kartar Ram a resident of Meon Wal village.
IO said that the police had received information that the accused was cultivating the poppy crop on his land.
IO said that the police raided the spot and recovered plants of green poppy crop weighing 30.5 kilograms.
The investigating officer said that a case under section 8(B)15/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and Hari Ram son of Sardara Ram a resident of Meon Wal village is absconding.
