The Nakodar City police booked unidentified miscreants on charges of cheating and criminal conspiracy.
Munish Dheer a resident of Mohalla Jalotiyan Nakodar and President of BJP Jalandhar Rural
complained to the police. that he received a WhatsApp call on Wednesday morning regarding the opening of the shop as he wanted to buy some jewelry from his showroom.
Dheer said that he replied to the caller that he begins business at 10.30 AM. He said that the caller phoned again and introduced himself to the Manager of the SBI Bank Nakodar branch requesting designs of gold rings urgently He said he liked the designs and asked to send two rings.
Dheer said he sent two rings by hand, asked his employee to bring cash, and gave him a mobile number.
The complainant said that cheaters were waiting in the car (PB-10-EN-5511) outside the SBI branch on Jalandhar Road and one of them went inside the bank saying he would bring cash.
Dheer said that when his employee went inside the bank, he was told that none of the staff ordered any rings and when he came outside the car was not there.
Investigating Officer Harinder Pal Singh said that a case under sections 420(cheating) and 120-B(criminal conspiracy ) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against unidentified accused
