The Lohian Khas police have arrested two persons on the charges of extortion and criminal intimidation.
Investigating Officer (IO) Balwinder Singh said that the accused have been identified as, Jaswinder Singh alias Labhu son of Puran Singh a resident of Yusaf Pur Aalowal village, and Lehmbar Singh son of Karma a resident of Mohalla Dhumanna ward no 4, Lohian Khas.
Sandip Kumar a resident of ward no.13 had complained to the police that the accused in an inebriated condition came to his dhaba on July 13, 2021, at 8.30 pm and ordered nonvegetarian food and refused to pay a bill of Rs 1600 and paid Rs 400 out of areas as they used to come earlier too.
He said that on asking bill the accused ransacked the dhaba asked other customers not to pay forcibly downed shutters and using filthy language snatched Rs 2000 from the counter threatening the cashier.
IO said a case under section 294 (uttering obscene words), 386(extortion by putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt), 451(house trespass) 506(criminal intimidation), and 149(unlawful assembly) of the IPC was registered against the accused and others.
