The Nakodar Sadar police arrested a Delhi resident on the charge of attempt to murder, firing, and rioting.
Investigating officer (IO)Rannjit Singh said that the accused has been identified as Piyush Sharma son of Vishnu Sharma a resident of Jama Masjid locality in Delhi.
Harnek Singh a Canada-based NRI and native of Chak Kalan village had complained to the police that the accused riding a motorcycle attacked him with a firearm to kill and seriously injured him on September 3 night 2023 near Shankar Pulli when he was returning home in his vehicle.
IO said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused and others.
