NAKODAR
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed a Nakodar resident to file a fresh consolidated representation before respondent No.2 (Executive Officer Nakodar Nagar Council) within two weeks to remove encroachments on public land by Dera Lal Babshah.
Justice Rajesh Bhardwaj disposing of a civil writ petition by ex-councillor Hari Mittar Sondhi said in his order on March 18 that this Court finds it appropriate to grant the petitioner an opportunity to file a fresh consolidated representation before respondent No.2 within two weeks from today.
The Court said that if any such representation is filed, respondent No.2 would take a necessary decision on the same expeditiously and preferably within one month under law.
Nakodar ex-councillor Hari Mittar Sondhi had submitted in the court in 2015 that the Dera’s managing committee had encroached on the local civic body’s land measuring 33 kanals 7 marlas.
The court said that it is being clarified that respondents No.4 and 5 would also be heard before taking the final decision.
