To create maximum awareness amongst the young voters about their voting rights, an awareness drive was held today across educational institutions under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program.
Campus ambassadors at schools, colleges today gave the message of the right to franchise so that a large number of youngsters could be sensitized to utilize their voting rights.
Campus ambassadors with slogans in their hands urged youngsters to ensure their maximum participation in the biggest festival of democracy by making Jalandhar a leading district in terms of voting turnout. Notably, the Election Commission of India has also launched a mission to achieve over 70 percent polling in the country. The students were also asked to create awareness in their homes or societies to transform this campaign into a mass movement.
