Deputy Commissioner-Cum-District Election Officer Vishesh Sarangal today directed the officials to set up a single window system at the District Administrative Complex to grant various permissions concerning election campaigns by political parties and candidates contesting in Jalandhar Parliamentary Constituency.
The Deputy Commissioner said that as per directions received from the Election Commission of India, a single window system has been set up in room no 22, Ground floor, District Administrative Complex wherein political parties and candidates can apply for various election-related permissions including commercial/remote/uncontrolled airports/helipads, public meetings, rallies/processions, use of loudspeakers, use of vehicles, plying of video vans, etc. for electioneering.
Mr. Sarangal stated that officers have also been deployed to carry out this permission-related task smoothly so that applicants do not face any kind of problem while obtaining permissions from the administration. The deputy commissioner has appointed Sub Registrar Gurpreet Singh as Nodal Officer for District Level Single Window System while Superintendent Mahesh Kumar, Rakesh Sharma, Clerk Rajinder Singh, and Sonu will be assisting him as assistant nodal officers.
DC said that this move aimed at providing a one-stop solution to political parties and candidates concerning obtaining election-related activities besides keeping a close tab on poll-related expenses through this system. He also urged the political parties and candidates to utilize this platform to obtain any kind of permission from the Election Commission of India.
