Deputy Commissioner-Cum-District Election Officer Vishesh Sarangal today designated as many as 80 places in the district to hold rallies/political events by the various political parties and candidates during their election campaign to ensure minimum hindrance to the general public these political events.
Giving more information, the DC said that the administration has designated about 80 places in each assembly segment where political parties and candidates can hold rallies and events related to their electioneering.
In Jalandhar-II Sub Division, Dana Mandi Kartarpur and Dana Mandi Kehra Majha, Tahlia Wala Chowk, Bhargo camp, Baba Buddha Mall Ground, Bhargo Camp, Model House Park, Dussehra Ground Ghas Mandi Chowk, Near Madhuban Public School Basti Bawa Khel, Paras Enclave Gali No.1 Basti Bawa Khel, Grover Colony Park, Katehra Mohalla, Near Kehra Palace Basti Mitthu, Dussehra Ground New Deol Nagar, Madhuban Colony Park, and park outside Guru Nanak Public School Basti Bawa Khel, Layalpur Khalsa College GT Road, Layalpur Khalsa College for Women, Puda Market Ground, Ladowali Road, PAP Ground GT Road, Dussehra Ground Dakoha, GNDU Regional Campus Laddewali, Chaugitti Park, JC Resort GT Road, Amar Palace Rama Mandi, Dhillon Palace Rama Mandi, New Jawahar Park Jalandhar Cantt, Dussehra Ground Cantonment, Janj Ghar Khusropur, Community Hall Alaidinpur, Hockey Stadium Sansarpur, Football Ground Dhina, Bhai Dyal Ji park GTB Nagar, Mota Singh Park, Dussehra Ground Jandiala, Dana Mandi Jamsher, and Defence Colony, Jalandhar Cantt.
Similarly, in Shahkot Dana Mandi Mehatpur, Dana Mandi Rupewal, Dana Mandi Gidderpindi, Dana Mandi Lohian Khas, Janta Mandi Lohian Khas, Dana Mandi Mansian, Dana Mandi Parjian, Dana Mandi Sahil Jagir, Dana Mandi Lasuri, Dana Mandi Punia, Dana Mandi Kohar Kalan, Dana mandi Kamalpur, Dana Mandi Mehrajwal, Dana Mandi Nal, Dana Mandi Turna, Dana Mandi Baghela, Dana Mandi Sanghowal, Dana Mandi Kulara, Dana Mandi Talwandi Sanghera, and Dana Mandi Shahkot will be designated places.
Dussehra Ground, near Bus Stand Nakodar, and Dussehra Ground near Bus Stand Nurmahal, will be designated places in Nakodar Sub Division. In Adampur Sub Division, Dussehra Ground Adampur, Dana Mandi Bhogpur, Dana Mandi Alawalpur, Dana Mandi Dhanour, Dana Mandi Adampur, Sports Stadium Sanghwal, Ground in village Kingra Chowal, and Ground in village Rastgo to be designated places.
Similarly, in Jalandhar-I subdivision, Grain Market Jalandhar, New Sabji Mandi Maqsudan, Pathankot Chowk Ground, Jalandhar, Dussehra Ground backside Doaba College, Burlton Park, Beant Singh Park Focal Point, Sain Dass School Ground have been earmarked for poll-related activities.
In Phillaur Subdivision places designated for rallies and other political events include Chinj Ground village Tehing, Stadium Panchayat Ghar village Muthada Kalan, Government Stadium Bara Pind, Dussehra Ground Rurkan Kalan, Government Stadium village Atta, and Government Ground Rurkan Khurd.
The DC categorically mentioned that for anyone found organizing such poll activity at a non-designated place, strict action will be taken against such person or party as per law. He appealed to all the parties and candidates to only hold such events at designated places by obtaining permission from the district administration.
