DC reviews progress of ongoing development projects under Smart City Project

Deputy Commissioner. Vishesh Sarangal today reviewed the progress of various development projects under Jalandhar Smart City and directed the officials to ensure the completion of these projects within the stipulated time. Municipal Corporation Jalandhar Commissioner Gautam Jain also took part in the meeting.

Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Chairman of the City Level Evaluation and Monitoring Committee (CLEMC), while reviewing the progress of various projects said that work on Integrated Command Control Center (ICCC) has been completed 95 % which will be fully functional by March 31, 2024.

He said that under this project about1000 CCTVs have been installed at 180 places in the city.

He said that under this project, as many as 25 public address systems have been installed at various places besides emergency call boxes have also been installed at different places .

Apart from this, about  25 Variable Message Display (VMD) have been installed across the city to give any important information to the citizens in short span of time.

He also reviews the progress of the project costing Rs. 7 crores regarding the use of treated water for irrigation and directed the officials to complete this project by June 30.

He said that with the completion of this STP having 25 MLD capacity , the treated water would be used for irrigation through underground pipes.

Taking stock of the progress of the modernization work of Mithapur Hockey Stadium, Deputy Commissioner gave instructions to complete the project by the end of this month.

Deputy Commissioner also asked the officials of the municipal corporation and executive agencies to ensure the quality check of the development works.

He said that any kind of compromise with the quality of works will not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner also reviews the  Burlton Park Sports Hub project, construction of roof top rainwater harvesting system in government buildings, and solid waste management .
