Given the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal visited the strong rooms and counting centres and took stock of the ongoing arrangements there.
The Deputy Commissioner along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Major Dr. Amit Mahajan, AROs visited the Government Arts and Sports College, State Patwar School, Director Land Records, and Government Sports School, where strong rooms are to be set up for all nine assembly constituencies.
He directed the Assistant Returning Officers to ensure all necessary arrangements as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India at the strong rooms and counting centres.
Mr. Sarangal said that after the end of the voting process in the district, EVMs will be collected from different assembly constituencies and will be kept in the strong room here, which will be brought to the counting centers on the day of counting.
Reiterating his commitment to conduct free, fair and transparent elections in the district, the Deputy Commissioner said that keeping in mind the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the administration was already completing the arrangements so that the entire election process could be conducted properly.
On this occasion, all the Assistant Returning Officers, Election Tehsildar Sukhdev Singh, and Election Kanungo Rakesh were also present.
