Punjab Govt. to develop villages at par with cities - Balkar Singh



JALANDHAR
Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh said that the Punjab government would develop the villages at par with cities to uplift the living standards of more than 70 % population of the state.

Distributing grants worth Rs. 65 lahks to various villages for development works on Sunday, the minister said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann had chalked out a comprehensive plan to provide all basic facilities like sewerage, street lights, drinking water, quality health and education services to the people.
Talking to the people in villages Jalowal and Mumandpur, the minister reviewed the facilities provided to the people during camps organised under "Aap di Sarkar, Aap de Dwar “ where people hailed the efforts made by the Punjab government which provides 44 citizen services at their doorsteps.


 The cabinet minister also laid the foundation stone of a sewerage project worth Rs. 13.50 crore in the historic city of Kartarpur.

Terming it as a historic day for Kartarpur city, the cabinet minister thanked the chief minister of Punjab Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann for bringing a new era of development in the state, especially in semi-urban areas and villages of the state.
