The Lohian Khas police have booked an unidentified vehicle driver on charges of causing death by negligence, rash driving, and mischief.
Inderjit Kaur wife of Jaspreet Singh a resident of Sidhu Pur village villager complained to the police that the accused vehicle driver was driving very fast and negligently and hit her husband's motorcycle near Truck Union on the March 9 evening and seriously injured him who succumbed to injuries in a Jalandhar clinic.
Investigating Officer Avtar Singh said that a case under section 279(rash driving on a public road) and 304-A (causing death by negligence), 427(mischief) of the IPC has been registered against the unidentified accused.
