Two travel agents booked for duping villager   of Rs 3.56 Lakhs

 

NURMAHAL

 The Nurmahal police have booked two travel agents for allegedly duping a villager of Rs.3.56 lakhs on the pretext of sending his relative abroad.

Investigating officer (IO)Varinder Mohan said that the accused have been identified as Mukesh Kumar son of Mohinder Pal a resident of Aujla village under Bilga police station and his brother Gaurav Kumar.

Vinoj Kumar a resident of Sidham Mustadi village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (ssp) that he paid Rs 3.56   to the accused for facilitating his relative’s migration to Canada, but he was not sent abroad nor returned the money.

 

IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
