The Nurmahal police have arrested a villager on charges of attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt with weapons, and criminal intimidation.
Investigating officer (IO) Vijay Kumar said that the accused has been identified as Amandeep Singh alias Aman alias Lambarr son of Baljinder Singh a resident of Uppal Jagir village
, Satvir Singh, Taranjit Singh, Abhi, his brother, and Jasvir Singh all residents of Nurmahal.

Gurdial Singh a resident of Chuheki village had complained to the police that he was returning home on December 12 when the accused and his accomplices waylaid and attacked him intending to kill him and seriously injured him and threatened him with dire consequences.
IO said that a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) 323,324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) 341(wrongful restraint) 506(criminal intimidation) and148,149(rioting) of the IPC was against the accused and his five accomplices who are absconding.
