NAKODAR
The Nakodar City police have booked a couple on the charge of breach of trust and cheating.
Investigating Officer (IO) Dilbag Singh said that the accused has been identified as Jon Masih alias Jain Masih son of Buta Masih a resident of Dhinna village under Jalandhar Sadar police station and presently living in Ashok Vihar colony Nakodar and his wife Bina.
Paramjit Kaur a resident of Mohalla Guru Nanak Pura complained to the police that the accused cheated her of Rs 5 Lakhs by signing an agreement to sell a property already mortgaged with a bank.
She said that after this act the accused gave her a written promise to return the money but did not fulfill the promise and cheated her.
IO said that a case under sections 406(breach of trust) and 420(cheating) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
