District Planning Board Chairman Amritpal Singh on Tuesday handed over an amount of Rs 2.70 lakh to SSP Jalandhar MS Bhullar for setting up a waiting area for the elderly on the premises of the SSP office. This amount will be spent on installing chairs etc. for the elderly here.
Giving detailed information, he said that there was a great need for a seating area for the elderly here, hence, he has handed over this amount to the SSP office so that seating arrangements for the elderly can be made as soon as possible. The Chairman further said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed for the betterment and welfare of all sections of the society for which many efforts were being made by the government. Chairman Amritpal Singh further said that the Planning Board is also continuously releasing funds for development works and welfare of the society and this trend will continue in the future also. He said that the Punjab Government has recently started a program called Aap Ki Sarkar Aapke Dwar, under which citizen services are being provided to the people near their homes.
