Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan today inaugurated Shrimad Bhagwat Katha here at Sai Dass School Ground wherein he urged people especially youngsters to connect with their roots to achieve higher goals in their lives. He also announced a grant worth Rs. 2.50 lakh for the organizing committee to further espouse this noble cause.
Mr. Sandhwan said that our scriptures were the epitome of our rich cultural legacy and one who seeks to resort to these holy books finds peace and prosperity in life.
He also lauds the efforts of Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora for organizing this mega event on the pious land of Jalandhar by inviting the renowned Katha Vachak Jai Kishori Ji for a seven-day long Shrimad Bhagvad Katha event.
Addressing the gathering, Punjab Chief Minister's sister Manpreet Kaur said that Geeta is not just a holy scripture but also a way of living. She said that those who heartily follow the teachings of Geeta overcome the miseries of life as it gives followers the courage and strength to bear any kind of hardship in their lives.
